General Information
The Investment Academy is a professional specialization program dedicated to students, organized by the Institute of Financial Studies (ISF) with the support of the Financial Supervisory Authority (A.S.F.), the Fund Administration Association (AAF), and the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). The program consists of a series of 8 theoretical training modules delivered by financial sector specialists, as well as the completion of the learning process through the practical module Start2INVEST, which involves opening a trading account on the BVB’s demo platform, ArenaXT, to practice buying and selling financial instruments traded on the BVB.
Young people interested can develop the knowledge necessary to work in this field. The program offers them the opportunity to enrich their knowledge through the completion of a case study that could win them one of the prizes offered in this edition. Registration Mechanism
If you want to be part of the Investment Academy Program, you need to follow a few simple steps:
- Form a team with two other colleagues from your University.
- Choose a team leader (one of the three members) and a pseudonym for the formed team.
- Prepare your CVs. They must be in Europass format.
- We recommend that the team be guided by a coordinating professor from the University.
- The team must write an essay on the topic “Challenges of Unconventional Investments.”*
- Send the CVs and the essay to the email address evenimente@isf.ro by October 23, 2022 (11:59 PM).
*The essay must be a maximum of one Word page, with Times New Roman font, size 12.
Next, your team’s application will be evaluated by a committee, and if it is among the most successful, you will enter the training program, where financial sector specialists will conduct 8 excellent online meetings for your future in this field. In addition to participating in the Investment Academy, the 10 selected teams will benefit from free access to:
- ISF and AAF conferences in 2024
The topics of the sessions organized online between October 26 and November 29, 2023, after 17:00, include:
- The capital market – operational framework and institutions present;
- Financial instruments traded on the capital market;
- Stages of the investment process for individuals / Providing investment advice;
- Portfolio management within fund administration entities;
- Compliance in the field of investments. Market abuse and investment protection;
- Corporate governance. ESG;
- Marketing in the field of investments;
- New investment and regulatory trends.
Each session will last approximately 90 minutes, offering the opportunity to interact with industry specialists.
Participants in the Investment Academy have the chance to gain practical experience through the demo application ArenaXT (the practical module Start2INVEST).
After completing the Investment Academy modules, each team will complete a case study on the topic proposed by the organizer. The proposed solution by each team must be sent via email to evenimente@isf.ro between December 4 and December 14, 2023.
On December 21, 2023, the evaluation committee will designate a winning team based on the presentation of the submitted project. Each of the three members of the winning teams will receive a prize based on the score obtained, provided by the organizer and its partners in accordance with the regulations.
