The Institute of Financial Studies, in partnership with the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, invites you on April 10, 2024, at 12:00 to the SmartFIN@ISF Vocational Training Seminar. The seminar includes interactive presentations on the topic of investment behavior, the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and the Romanian capital market, as well as case studies and tips and tricks for beginners.

The event moderator is Professor Dr. Silvia IACOB – Dean of the Faculty of Theoretical and Applied Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.

Special Guests at the April 10 Session:

  • Ieronim ȘTEFAN – Coordinator of the Financial Education Department at ISF
  • Mihnea BĂRBULESCU – Executive Director at Erste Asset Management Romania, coordinating sales, marketing, and product management activities, Mihnea Bărbulescu has over 20 years of experience in the Romanian capital market, with expertise in the sale of treasury products, financial investment services, and the management of collective and individual portfolios. His knowledge was acquired at prestigious financial institutions in Romania, such as Raiffeisen Bank, Raiffeisen Capital & Investment S.A., BT Securities, and Erste Asset Management Romania.
  • Maria DOBRE studied the history and politics of Central and Eastern Europe at University College London. Her passion for cooking led her to Cyprus, where a sabbatical year turned into an 11-year adventure, including opening her own restaurant. During the pandemic, with the restaurant on hold, she co-founded a financial education platform, diving into another passion: trading on the capital market. Although she has no formal studies in economics or banking finance, she is self-taught and firmly believes that if you are passionate, you can change the course of your career and life direction. Upon returning to Bucharest, she continued trading on the stock exchange and began collaborating with TradeVille to promote financial education. Another project she is involved in is the transfer of ESOPs from foreign brokers to Romania. Employees of these companies listed on foreign exchanges have the opportunity to benefit from reduced taxes in Romania and continue their journey in the capital market locally. Her belief is to never be afraid to open new doors; you never know what opportunities await.
