The Institute of Financial Studies (ISF), together with the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), organized in the first half of 2024, in partnership with 21 prestigious universities in Romania, the SmartFIN@ISF – Academic Laboratory – Vocational Training Seminars program. The program aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of students, who are future consumers of financial services and potential employees in non-banking financial markets (insurance, private pensions, and investments).

The project began in 2021 and has so far included 175 meetings attended by 12,603 students. These students received participation certificates from ISF, recognized by institutions active in the non-banking financial markets.

The project involves holding seminars that include:

  • presentations of case studies, technical, and practical aspects from the fields of insurance, capital markets, and private pensions;

  • interactive presentations on career topics (recruitment, personal development), starting with the requirements of the market/companies and addressing the challenges faced by future employees.

During the first half of 2024, 25 sessions (both in-person and online) were organized, involving 1,949 students. Of these, 1,209 participated in in-person events, while 740 attended online. The seminars were delivered by 26 experts from the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Institute of Financial Studies, and entities active in non-banking financial markets, partners of ISF, such as: UNSAR, Amundi, Omniasig, BT-AM, SAI Muntenia Invest, Lion Capital, Estinvest, ERSTE, Groupama, AAF, and BVB.
