Galați, May 23, 2025 — The “Dunărea de Jos” University in Galați (UGAL) recently hosted two significant educational events organized in partnership with the Institute of Financial Studies (ISF), with financial education as the central theme.

The first event was aimed at high school students from Brăila and Galați counties, while the second was dedicated to UGAL students, bringing together a total of over 200 high school students and 100 university students interested in developing their financial skills.

Under the overarching theme “Steps Toward the Future with the Help of Financial Education”, participants had the opportunity to explore essential concepts such as:

  • What financial education is and its role;
  • The capital market: from theory to practice;
  • The insurance market: from theory to practice;
  • The private pension market: from theory to practice.

ISF representatives emphasized during the sessions the importance of maintaining a healthy and sustainable relationship with money, noting that the longest-lasting relationship in our lives is the one with our personal financial resources. Financial education is more than just acquiring knowledge—it involves developing correct behaviors and responsible attitudes over time.

The events benefited from the presence of lecturers with extensive experience in the financial sector:

  • Ieronim ȘTEFAN – Coordinator of the Financial Education Department, ISF;
  • Florentin TUDOR – Financial Education Specialist, ASF;
  • Eduard INIZIAN – Regional Manager, Bucharest and South Region, BT Asset Management;
  • Cristina BOSCU, Tina BIRA, and Gheorghe MIHĂIESCU – representatives of Metropolitan Life.

UGAL reaffirms its commitment to providing students and young people in the region with access to high-quality resources for personal and professional development through collaborations with relevant institutions in the financial sector.
