The Financial Supervisory Authority and the Institute of Financial Studies launch the second edition of the national financial education program Start2Learn: Personal Finance, addressed to high school students from the counties Dolj, Alba, Iași, Prahova, Bucharest, 11th grade during the period March-May 2023.
The Start2Learn: Personal Finance program provides the basic notions that the student needs to start planning their financial goals and helps them lay the foundations for a healthy financial life. By participating in this program, students gain knowledge about:
- Drawing up and tracking a budget of income and expenses that helps them identify the efficient way of using financial resources;
- Setting realistic financial goals that help them better plan financial resources in the short, medium, and long term;
- Evaluating the current financial situation and identifying methods to save for achieving certain proposed goals.
The topics covered during the synchronous classes are:
1. Needs, desires, and consumption;
2. Finances and personal budget;
3. Money and banks;
4. The ABC of insurance for individuals;
5. The stock market and investments;
6. Planning for retirement in advance.
The project takes place in 15 high schools with the support of local partner Universities.
