The Institute of Financial Studies and the Financial Supervisory Authority, in partnership with the “Aurel Vlaicu” University in Arad, invite you on October 13, 2023, at 15:00 to the SmartFIN@ISF Vocational Training Seminar and Academic Laboratory. The seminar includes interactive presentations on career topics, case studies, and technical and practical aspects from the fields of insurance, capital markets, and pensions.
Special Guests at the October 13 Session:
- Professor Dr. Marian SIMINICĂ, Executive Director of ISF and university professor at the University of Craiova, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, teaches courses in Economic-Financial Analysis and Corporate Financial Diagnosis and is a PhD advisor in the field of Accounting. He has extensive experience in university management, having served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty (2008–2012), responsible for scientific research and quality assurance in education, and as Dean from 2012 to 2016. He was Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Economics Faculties in Romania (2012–2016). He is a member of several professional associations in the economic field, including: ANEVAR expert evaluator, serving as Secretary General of the association from 2016 to 2017; certified accountant, member of CECCAR; tax consultant, member of CCFR. Since 2014, he has been Vice-President of the Romanian Society for Economic-Financial Analysis (SRAEF). Since 2017, he has been a member of the CNATDCU Commission for “Economic Sciences and Business Administration,” and since 2018, a member of the ARACIS Permanent Experts Committee, contributing to the external evaluation of numerous bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the economic field. He has extensive experience in scientific research, materialized through the publication of 7 books and university textbooks, over 60 articles in specialized journals, including 12 articles in Web of Science-indexed journals with non-zero AIS, participation in national and international conferences, and involvement in research contracts as grant director or research team member. He is a reviewer for several Web of Science-indexed journals and a member of the editorial board for several journals indexed in international databases. His main research directions are: financial performance and risks of enterprises; sectoral economic-financial analyses; models for researching enterprise behavior.
- Paul BARANGĂ, Holds a degree in economic and legal sciences and obtained a PhD in Finance in 2020. He has extensive experience in financial services and instruments, gained over the past 17 years in both the private sector and at the Financial Supervisory Authority, where he held various positions such as: regulated markets specialist, head of service, deputy director, or director. He has contributed to the professional training of capital market specialists in Romania as an authorized lecturer at various professional training organizations. Currently, he works at the Financial Supervisory Authority as Director of the Integrated Supervision Directorate.
- Alexandru CIUNCAN, President and General Director of UNSAR, has over 20 years of experience in the fields of insurance and private pensions in Central and Eastern Europe, with particular expertise in business conduct, regulation, consumer protection, media, and financial journalism. Since September 2018, Alexandru has held the position of General Director of UNSAR – National Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Romania, and since August 2019, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of ISF – Institute of Financial Studies. Between 2013 and 2018, Alexandru was a member of the IRSG and OPSG, the two stakeholder groups of EIOPA – the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, participating in the development and discussion of legislative acts with long-term impact on the insurance and private pension industries. During the same period, he served as Secretary General of APPA – the Association for the Promotion of Insurance – an NGO that developed the first national consumer information and education campaigns – and as Managing Partner of XPRIMM, a Romanian media company specialized in the insurance industry in CEE and SEE. Alexandru CIUNCAN graduated from the Faculty of Management at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, holds a Professional Certificate in Management (OPEN University Business School, UK), and is a licensed PMP-Project Management Professional and ACP-Agile Certified Professional (Project Management Institute, USA).
- Ștefan MUSGOCIU, has been active in the capital market since 2007, initially as a capital market journalist at the Mediafax press agency until 2014, when he joined the Bucharest Stock Exchange team. He was part of the teams that launched two of the most important financial education programs of the Bucharest Stock Exchange:
- Tudor IRIMIEA, graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in Cluj-Napoca in 2007, specializing in the Economics of Commerce, Tourism, and Services. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a Risk Analyst at CEC Bank S.A., and from 2008 to 2009, he held the position of Relationship Manager at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank S.A. Since 2013, he has been a stockbroker at SSIF BRK Financial Group S.A., and in 2015, he founded the first investors’ club in Romania. Since July 2017, he has been part of the BT Asset Management SAI S.A. team with direct responsibilities for promoting products in Transylvania. As of April 1, 2022, he was promoted to the position of Sales and Marketing Director.
