The Institute of Financial Studies (ISF), in collaboration with the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), conducted the SmartFIN@ISF – Academic Laboratory: Vocational Training Seminars program in the first half of 2025, in partnership with 19 universities in Romania.

The main objective of this program is to develop the skills and knowledge of students – future consumers of financial services and potential employees in the fields of non-banking financial markets (insurance, private pensions, investments).

Launched in 2021, the project has so far recorded 243 sessions, with the participation of 17,728 students. All participants received certificates of participation from ISF, recognized by relevant institutions in the non-banking financial sector.

The program involves organizing interactive seminars that include:

  • Presentations of case studies and technical and practical aspects from the fields of insurance, capital markets, and private pensions;
  • Interactive discussions about careers, covering current market and company requirements, as well as the challenges faced by future professionals in the field.

In the first half of 2025, 22 sessions were held, conducted both in-person and online, bringing together a total of 1,692 students – of which 1,429 participated in physical classrooms and 263 online. These seminars were delivered by 20 experts from ASF, ISF, and partner entities operating in the non-banking financial sector.

We thank the collaborating universities and all partners from the financial markets for their involvement throughout all these editions.
