Starting in 2022, ISF received accreditation for the StartFIN program (Training of teaching staff in primary education in the financial field) dedicated to pre-university teachers in primary education. The teacher training sessions aim to develop skills in money management and making decisions with financial consequences, as well as shaping an understanding of how money is perceived, spent, saved, borrowed, or invested in today’s society.

Throughout 2024, the program continued to record high interest, with 17 groups of participants organized, totaling 411 enrolled teachers and 680 hours of training.

According to the accreditation, the StartFIN program has a duration of 40 hours of training, and upon completion, participants who achieve at least 80% attendance are admitted to the final evaluation stage, with the opportunity to submit an educational portfolio evaluated by a committee, in accordance with the provisions of OME no. 4224/06.07.2022 regarding the implementation of continuous professional development programs.

Following the 17 evaluation sessions organized, educational portfolios were assessed, structured around topics such as:

  • About currencies and monetary systems
  • Needs and wants
  • How money is earned and spent
  • Saving in the family
  • Payment instruments – cash, bank card, virtual card
  • Ways to invest money

  • Consumer rights
  • Risk explained to children

The StartFIN program (Training of teaching staff in primary education in the financial field) consists of 40 hours and offers 10 continuous training credits to participants. The program is accredited for 4 years in a blended learning format, with 20 hours organized synchronously online and 20 hours organized asynchronously, thus providing the advantage of remote participation for teachers across the country.

Since the accreditation date, 1018 teachers have participated in the StartFIN program sessions.

In 2025, ISF continues to offer, free of charge, training opportunities for teachers in primary education.
