Bucharest, 18 May 2023 - The Institute of Financial Studies organized, in the period 21 April – 11 May 2023, in partnership with the Financial Supervisory Authority, a series of financial education sessions in three university centers in the country, namely Galați, Suceava, and Alba Iulia.
The Institute of Financial Studies has concluded academic partnerships with 21 universities to continue supporting financial education efforts by engaging students in their final years, bachelor’s or master’s degree, in the field of financial services.
“Financial education is a necessity for the harmonious economic development of the entire Romanian society. University centers in the country play an essential role in training professionals who can contribute to increasing the level of financial education of the population. The Institute of Financial Studies, supported by the Financial Supervisory Authority, continues to develop programs in collaboration with Romanian universities. We are convinced that through very good cooperation between the academic environment, authorities, and the business environment, we can contribute to increasing the level of financial education among young people, thus forming a future generation better prepared to face economic and financial challenges,” stated Mr. Marian Siminică, Executive Director ISF.
In the recently organized financial education sessions, participants were largely students from the host university centers, as well as representatives from the professional environment and non-banking financial markets. The debates focused on the following topics:
Increasing financial resilience in uncertain times Integrating financial education in the family The benefits of scientific research and financial education Promoting better financial knowledge among owners and managers of SMEs. All three sessions also captured the impact of new European legislative changes on financial markets in Romania, as well as the challenges generated by economic developments in the global context, financial resilience, non-financial reporting, or uniform accounting reporting standards.
Financial education actions organized by the ISF and A.S.F. in Galați, Suceava, and Alba Iulia
21 April 2023 - “Ensuring sustainability through Financial Education”, within the International Conference “Risk in the Contemporary Economy” (RCE 2023), 23rd edition. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration within the “Dunărea de Jos” University from Galați.
4-5 May 2023 - “The role of financial education in ensuring sustainability”, within the International Economic Conference – “Scientific research and financial education - factors for increasing financial resilience”. The event was hosted by the “Ștefan cel Mare” University from Suceava.
11 May 2023 - “Scientific research and financial education – factors for increasing financial resilience”, within the International Conference for Management, Economics, and Accounting, 15th edition – ICMEA 2023. The event was hosted by the “1 Decembrie 1918” University from Alba Iulia and AFER.
